A wrinkle in time

A wrinkle in time

By Madeleine .L. Engle

Science Fiction

A wrinkle In time was a very enjoyable read. This book is about a girl named Meg and her little brother charles and a boy named Calvin on a big adventure to find their dad. I would recommend this book ages 8 and up because it is pretty dark. The characters have lots of personality and background which is great. I hope you read this book!

Elvis and the underdogs

Elvis and the underdogs

By Jenny Lee

Fantasy

This book was pretty good. Bengi always gets sick and he is bullied by a kid named billy and has hardly any friends. One thing changes everything though. Bengi gets a service dog! He is huge and he talks! The book was great. The talking dog  not so much. The dog is playful and for little kids while the book has a serious concept. I would recommend this book for 7 and up.

Upside Down Magic

by Sarah Mlynowski

also by Lauren Myracle

and by Emily Jonkins

fantasy

Upside Down Magic is a super book! Meet Nory who instead of turning into a kitten she turns into a dritten (dragon/kitten). So instead of getting into her dream school she goes to a wonky upside down magic school. What will she do? This book has cool characters and a interesting plot. I would recommend this book ages 7 and up.

DRAMA

by Raina Telgameir
graphic novel

Callie loves drama but she can not sing. That,s why Callie does stage crew. This year Callie is going big for this years Moon Over Mississippi.  Callie has A. a cannon that won,t fire, B. two cute boys , C. nobody working together or D.all of the above? if you picked D. you would be correct. The story is hard to understand , it leaves a cliff hanger and the fact that it is a graphic novel is great.  Usually Raina has wonderful books that deserve five star rating,s  but this one ,not so much.  Don,t get me wrong , this is a good read. I just expected more from her. Her book smile is a good read. I would recommend this book ages 9 and older.

The Report Card

The Report Card

by Andrew Clements

realistic fiction

Andrew Clements is my favorite author! The Report Card is one of his best books. Nora is a genius. Ever since she was little she kept it a secret. She hated all the attention. At school Stephen,s  grades were not the best. So Nora gets all D,s and one C.  Why?  She says "D,s have  a pretty shape". This book has heartfelt characters and story lines that make you want to read more. I would recommend this book for kids seven and up because the story is easy to follow and as long as it is read aloud seven is a great number.

Counting by sevens

Counting By Sevens

by Holly Goldberg Sloan

realistic fiction

Counting By Sevens is a book that is exciting and emotional. Willow Chance is a genius. She has been  through two pairs of parents. The third pair just died and Willow is heart broken. Go through her journey and meet Mal ,  Cheddar, Pattie and Dell. I really liked this book! It has won lots of awards. I would recommend this book ages nine and older as it is very complicated and may seem boring to those who can't understand.
